I don't know if I can do this anymore?
Updated: Jun 2, 2023
Hello sisters, let's talk and be real with ourselves.
If you're a pastor’s wife and you can relate to the upcoming paragraph alone, this blog is just for you! But I am also speaking to my sisters aspiring to be the wife to a minister or those wondering what it’s really like to walk in these shoes. I’m not hiding these blisters, bunions or scars from you, neither. Allow me illustrate what her pain is truly about..
Her pain is that she has pain
Her pain is she sees what others don't see
Her pain is that as some say "just the pastors wife"
Her pain is to see her husband's God given assignment fulfilled
Her pain is that she is right in front of you but can't be seen Her pain is that she scream but cannot be heard.
The journey of being a Prophet's wife requires:
An understanding mind
A patient heart
A vessel that carries the grace of ease
Let's speak about the practicality of dealing with the responsibilities and the pain that comes with the position because it takes more than just getting up and being okay to this function - well. I always say Walk It, Talk It, Believe It which refers to the practical ways to acquire faith. When you walk and talk in that potential of having faith, you lead your body, mind and soul to activate that which you are practicalising - this is also known as manifestation - but cannot be actualised without praying to the Lord for GRACE!
Let me shed more light on these practicalities.
Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and saw more to you than you saw before? This time you're going to speak to that person staring back at you and tell them WHO THEY ARE, whether you believe it or not! I often had to speak the Word of God into that person staring at me until I believed it and continued doing so afterwards.
Have you felt any less of a boss lady than you actually are?
Song of Solomon 4:7: 'You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.' Feeling afraid and alone? Tell yourself in the mirror - Isaiah 4:10: 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.'
There is much to her pain but in that pain is Power, Ability, Information and the Nurturing Spirit. But she is moving with the AUTHORITY of the Father that placed her where she is.
People often look where some of us (Pastor’s Wives) are today and think that our walk started on level 100, but it NEVER does. It takes endurance, enormous inner strength, trials and failed coping mechanisms to move like the wind. But the levels are never-ending like in 2 Corinthians 3:18..
There is much more of His glory to press into and more to activate and operate in.
Romans 8:18: ‘For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.'
This passage needed not an introduction into the world behind what keeps me going. It’s like this - “I know I have purpose and I trust in God, but I needed an incentive directly from the Lord." That was when I stumbled across this scripture. In other words, every seed that I plant - no matter how deep in the ground it happens to be, fruit will show forth in due time.
Ladies, remember that even after the seed has cracked and germination begins, the first sprout is not its final form of the fruit. This can be due to the tribulations that it goes through - whilst growing! There is bad weather which involves: wrong temperature conditions, no rain or hailstone. It could even be trampled on..
I am CALLING OUT to those of you who can resonate with the pain and suffering of ministry. But remember, by the reason of how you will be transformed, it is through this same suffering, you'll begin to resemble His Son more and more. Daughter of Zion, that which the splendour God is producing in you outweighs the pain. This leads me to saying: know how to channel your energy by understanding purpose and accepting the suffering that comes with it.
Each level of pain is an increase in endurance, strength and capacity, these are key skills needed when on this journey. Each step is a catalyst further into greater heights and every step is crucial to advancement. My dear, I know it hurts and I know there is discomfort and sometimes loss, but without that journey, how could you have built that strength and capacity to face the next path of greatness?
Pain is simply a reminder that this story is real and NOT a dream. Instead of being pinched, the pain signifies the assignment and the abundance of your responsibility. Not everybody is born for such greatness, but YOU should keep stepping up into greater power and increased grace by the catalyst we know as pain.
Never forget who you are - A woman walking her path just as any other but knowing that you're different. That is the grace you STRUT in, holding your head high, remembering Romans 8:18 AND because you wouldn't be the main character of this story if it wasn't for you.
Ready, steady? Let us keep going on this journey together..!
